Hand-cut and polished Chrysocolla with red (possibly cuperite or iron) inclusions. This small cabochon is the right size for a big ring, small pendant or an interesting bangle stone. 

This cabochon was cut from an australian found peice of chyrsocolla lapidary rough, found by Joanne Peterson. 

  • Hardness + Care

    Chrysocolla has a hardness of 2-4 which is very soft. This stone can easily be damaged by harder Gemstones.

    This Chrysocolla is very stable and can be cleaned with or submerged in water with no damage to the crystal.

  • Locality + Mining Process

    Lapidary rough found by Joanne Peterson in Western Australia. It is a secondary mineral that develops around copper deposites. 

     

  • Crystal Description

    Chrysocolla is a minor ore of copper that typically develops in oxidizing copper deposits. It is reguarly found couples with other minerals such as quartz, calcite, cuperite, malachite, azurite and more.
