Colours: Pink - Pink - Rose quartz is always showing a hazy to translucent character due to microscopic fibrous inclusions of a pink borosilicate mineral - The colour and translucency is caused by tiny mineral borosilicate fibres inside the crystal.
Luster: Vitreous
Rarity: Fractured: Common, Clear: Rare. Formed commonly as the quartz core of pegmatites (igneous rock). Incredibly rarely found as terminated crystals, and when they are they are a late forming crystal likely growing parallel with smokey quartz.
Country of Origin: The chief source of Rose Quartz is Brazil, though it is also prevalent in Madagascar, South Africa, Mozambique, India, and the United States (Maine and South Dakota).
